Youth Ministry

The key to having a God-honoring youth ministry is the same as having a God-honoring church: remain focused on and committed to the purpose of your existence. For a church and its youth ministry that purpose is to obey the commands of Christ – the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The Great Commandment tells us to love God with all our being and to love our neighbors as ourselves. The Great Commission tells us to GO and reach and teach all those around us about the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. There are five important areas of purpose within these two commands: Evangelism, Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, and Ministry.

At Pleasant Grove we work hard to make these five purpose areas the cornerstones of our youth ministry. Everything we do will be reflected in these areas, and we will do nothing that does not help us reach our goal of being totally obedient to Christ.

Discipleship Training
Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m., the youth meet for discipleship training. This is a time of fellowship and study aimed toward growing our relationship with God.

Youth Drama Team
The Youth Drama Team meets every Wednesday afternoon at 6:00 p.m. Drama coordinator, Patti Walker, leads the youth in practicing and preparing to share the love of Jesus through dramatic presentation. The drama team performs many different types of dramas ranging from dance and black lights to traditional speaking skits. They perform regularly at youth events.

Wednesday Youth Service
Each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., the youth meet for refreshments, followed by an energized session of Bible study, fellowship, and discussion of real-world issues facing teens today. Come and be a part of a growing youth group!
